pag napadaan ka dito, alam mong sayo to..

Rotten, Shitty Day

So it's Monday and its a rotten shitty day.
I had to wake up an hour early due to thunder and lightning which invaded my deep slumber to begin with. So there goes my 7-hour sleep reduced to 6 now.
And of course, my cousin and I are still not talking due to some silly pride-bashing we had 2 days ago.
And when I rode the bus to work, I sat on my usual front seat while attempting to have semblance of peace in my already jumbled mind. But then I overheard the driver talking to someone else and figured out this driver does not even have a driver's license. There goes my peace of mind. I had to sit still while this asshole of a driver attempted to break all traffic rules that I was aware of.
I got to work all in one piece. But when I tried to fill my mug with my usual coffee from the pantry, I found out that the machine has run out of cream and sugar. So I had to settle with bitter coffee in my mouth to start my working day. That totally irritated me.
I took my breaks and lunch early. And I had to succumb to the only life support I could think of save from coffee-- I had to smoke.
I went down to grab a cigarette and that sorta' took some stress away.
On my way up through the elevator, I rode in with one of my big bosses. There were only the 2 of us, but I didn't so much give him a glance. I was just enjoying by my lonesome, finally enjoying my moment of peace.
But moment of all moments, it happened. I just had to fart, damn. And it wasnt really a benign fart. It had to smell damn it. Worst, he, my big boss, had to share smelling it with me.
Oh boy, thre goes my peaceful moment.
And so its Monday, and I am having a shitty day.
But who says I cant laugh about it.
Har har. *With all the irony I could muster*

Today

Today, Pope Benedict XVI warns against secularism and do-it-yourself religion, as his German visit draws to a close.
In the Middle East, Israeli bulldozers demolish empty settlers' homes in the Gaza Strip as the eviction operation nears its completion.
In Egypt, a key Egyptian opposition group, the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood, urges voters not to boycott the elections.
In the Philippines, MalacaƱang has issued a directive creating a 50-member consultative commission that will recommend amendments to the Constitution before the end of the year.
In outer space, an asteroid known to astronomers for more than a century has now been found to harbor two small satellites.
HBO show, Six Feet Under, will be on its finale today.

In the meantime, this employee is finding it hard to get some work done, and has taken her lunch and breaks consecutively just to avoid working for a couple more minutes...
...while her boss lurks in the background..

au revoir

Hey guys! As promised, here are the pics from my recent out of town trip with my old friends. I've taken the liberty to edit some of the photos thru my good ol' Picassa, okey dokey? Oh, by the way, since this gimik was basically chelie's and mader's despedida, I will be including most of their pics here.

My friends Chelie and Mader are both going to the States for graduate studies (soshal!). Chelie willl be attending Georgetown and Mader is heading for Virginia Tech. By posting time, they'll be there already. But better late in posting than never, eh? Enjoy! Miss you guys!

First pic up there is Pau getting carried away with beesspreeen's (WHO?) dance step...
And then of course, these girls here all smiles and whatever...pa-simple si siyoks, wag mo na itago bilbil mu..and fe? arte mo pa rin mag-pose...

Cardinal and fe here trying to fool themselves into lovers. Haha, mas mukha kayong mag-ama! Lagot ke ke fafa Mike fefay! hala!

...And speaking of lovers nga pala, Mel surprised me by announcing her marriage to Lakay the following weekend. Shempre shocked ako pero happy...Best wishes MEllowtouch

..These 2 were lovey dovey the whole night! Pagbigyan na, Pader and Mader nga kase eh! Hamo mader, kame bahala dyan dito ke pader. HEhehe.

Here's a shot of Chelie that I particularly like. Kaya sorry na lang muna Fe and Bella, edit ko muna kayo ha..despedida naman to ni chel.. :p

Ayan, here's the tres marias in full attendance.. Kunwari black and white para nostalgic ang dating...

Months before the affair, Mabelle and I had a long standing cold war. Never knew what triggered it pero it has been months since we heard from each other. Di pa kame bati sa pic na to pero lapit na, hehe..

And yes, before I forget, here's our all-time favorite piƱacolada! Concocted by who else? Siyoktong of course! This particular mix, however had a bit of Fe's pacham (patsamba!)--> she added a whisk of C2 (ice tea, if you should ask!) -- and it tasted rather good.
Cheers!

Here's one of the group pics. Cardinal, playboy? Isa-isa lang po...

And of course, like any other Bogas gimik night, it wouldn't really be complete without videoke, ryt? Here's yours truly trying to reach those falsetto notes.

Here's a couple of mugshots. I was never aware taking these myself, but then again, anyone could have. especially with Richard in attendance? Nakow, best photographer...

Here's the mader and pader pictorial exclusive:

Couldn't resist adding this pic (singit lang!)..this pic was taken just a little bit before I'm almost tempted to hit Mabelle from the back...hehe, magkaaway nga kame eh..pero friends na po kame..favorite friend kona ulit sha, haha!

Here are the almost-morning to morning-after photos--Shempre almost wala tulugan na naman..old times baga...Paidlip-idlip lang mga tao pero laging me gising, kuwentuhan buong gabi..

Si Cardinal naghila ng mga upuan para higan...

Pinatulog na namin si Mommy Mel..kahit ayaw..baka maging lakwatsera daw kase ang bogas baby naten... :)

I was awake the whole night...as usual, Siyoktong is still teh eternal vampire...

Hala, tanghali na, anung petsa na! Magsi-uwian na kayo...!

I saved some of my favorite pics from the gimik for last..ala lang, pag nakikita ko tong mga pics na to, bigla ko na lang naiisip sumakay ng bus at pumuntang ELBI--tapos maiisip ko, ala na pala ang marami sa tin dun..

Pauwi na ulit kame..bus ulit..alis na ulit..

Au revoir Chelie and Mader!
Farewell.

Until then..
Mader and Chelie, take care of yourselves, okay?
Pagbalik niyo, we'll doit again..

thelma & louise

"Somebody told them to get a life...so they did."

There you go. That was the movie's tag line. It was a stormy Saturday night and whadda ya know, I spent it at home watching TV (what's new!). But hey, this CD's been sitting on top of my player for maybe a couple of weeks now and I've been ignoring it. Hah, to think that both Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon have both been my favorites at certain different points of my life. So there, I finally felt bored enough to watch an old movie of two old favorites, and demmet, it's good!

You know the feeling when you've just watched a good movie and you felt like cryin? Nah, I didnt feel like that this time. What I felt was kinda more nostalgic. I couldn't really explain. Maybe I should just talk about the movie first. It might give me some clues on how I really feel.

Basically the movie was about 2 friends who felt like having a vacation coz they were getting tired of the old life. Louise (Sarandon) was a waitress and Thelma (Davis) was a housewife. Typical lifestyle but both bored to death, they embarked on a trip for a supposedly nice vacation. Well, somewhere along the way, Louise killed a guy coz this guy tried to rape Thelma and before they knew it, they were both running away from the police. Things got more and more complicated since later in the movie, they needed to have money to survive. So Thelma robbed a convenient store and while driving away from it, they also managed to get pulled over by a policeman whom they trapped inside the car trunk. Towards the end of the movie, things got so complicated and problematical that they had to choose between turning themselves in to the police or keep on running. The scene was quite picturesque with Thelma and Louise inside their T-bird '64 facing a cliff with police cars trapping them from behind. Thelma goes, "I say we keep going..." And Louise says, "You sure?" All they had to do was hug and they held hands while their car falls off the cliff.

The movie had a pretty simple plot. Which basically makes it so natural and realistic. The end kinda grabs you though since you never expect that they would drive off just like that..

Now, I don't usually talk about movies, you see. Much less critique it, just like what I'm almost doing now. But see, I've always been a sucker for movies about friends and shit like that, so I can't help myself.

Watching Thelma & Louise kinda' makes me miss my bestfriends. Yeah, they're all too far and far-gone now, and I've dealt with that already. Yup, that's been dealt with already..see, I've resorted to critiquing movies about friends now when what I actually wanted to do was to write a little something for my besfriends too. Nah, too late. Too late.

As Ms. Thelma would put it, "I say keep going..keep going now".
I am.
Going...
Gone.

pain in the neck

before today, i always thought that "pain-in-the- neck" was a phrase used by people who wanted to express frustration and want to vent it on someone. i guess this was a narrow-minded way of looking at things.

i was absent from work last monday. it was raining cats and dogs and my way to work from our house was pretty much flooded. since i felt a cold coming too, i opted it best to stay at home for the night.

so there. i was at home the whole night - relaxing, reading -- and finally before i knew it, i fell asleep on the couch. i woke up at around 4am. i went up to my room and slept some more. by the next day, i knew i had pain in the neck. no, i wasn't a pain in the neck (to my boss or my sisters-- or to anyone for that matter!). but i had pain in the neck, literally, conspicuously feeling PAIN, that i could not even begin to describe.

it might have been that stupid, lumpy sofa. it might have been the long hours of sleep. whatever the reason was, i had stiff neck! i had freakin stiff neck just when i just had a long night of well-deserved sleep.

oh well, welcome to the mid-range 20's. an age when you seem to be in denial of all diseases and pains that your (not so) youthful body could take. damn it, stiff neck was something my mama or my tita would feel after a hard day's work. it's not so me! i should not be feeling this (pain in the neck) just yet!

but here, i do have it. and im already on my 2nd pack of chili pack from the clinic. i work, eat and sleep with chili pack between my shoulders blades.

word of advice everyone, if it rains really hard and if you have to cross the murky floodwaters of manila just so you can go to work while feeling really sick, GO AHEAD! it's so much better than having this stupid PAIN IN THE NECK!

i rest my case.
ouch--move my screen to the left please..i can't move...
